4-7-8 Breathing Pattern Exercise

Practice this at least three times or for as long as you can for maximum effect, to melt away tension, release depression and relax your body and mind. Firstly, relax your neck, shoulders, and body, start to breathe in through your nose (Inhale) for 4 seconds while expanding your belly through your diaphragm, then hold air in lung with the fullness in diaphragm (Hold) for 7 seconds, exhale through pursed lips (Exhale) for 8 seconds while feeling your belly deflate (similar to blowing out a candle).
