What is Bowen Therapy?

The basic principle behind Bowen therapy is that our body has an innate ability to heal itself, and when these mechanisms are activated, the body begins to heal itself. Through the process of activation, the body simultaneously restores a state of balance and harmony. Bowen therapy activates many bodily functions at the same time, unlike other therapies that target individual functions. The functions involved are as follows:

1. Autonomic Nervous

System Bowen treatment has significant effects on the autonomic nervous system (ANS), thereby modulating the mechanisms of self-healing. During treatment, patients have the opportunity to fall asleep or enter a state of deep relaxation. Usually, after a few sets of movements, we can hear the sound of peristalsis in the intestines, which means that the body is in the adjustment of the parasympathetic nervous system.

2. Fascia

The action of Bowen treatment is performed on the surface of the fascia. The fascia is operated on one side of the fascia, and the other side is the nerve, muscle and tendon. Fascia is a thin, strong connective tissue that serves a variety of functions. It looks like a spider web that stretches uninterrupted from head to toe. Fascia plays an important role in muscle coordination, body posture, and the structural and functional integrity of the body. Fascia is an important tissue that connects all structures in the human body. Through the cloud protection treatment, the blockage and adhesion of the fascia are released, so that the body circulation, body posture and range of motion can also be greatly improved and improved.

3. Acupoints and Meridians

Many of the operating positions of Baoyun treatment are along acupoints, and there are also opportunities to pass through the twelve meridians, so as to open up the body mechanism, achieve relaxation, relieve pain, improve sleep, improve digestion and immune system.

4. Neurolymphatic Points and Lymphatic Circulation

By manipulating the neurolymphatic site, lymphatic drainage can be stimulated.

5. Endorphins

Endorphins are neuropeptides, which are neurochemicals formed in the body that reduce pain and enhance feelings of pleasure and well-being. They are located in the brain, on both sides of the spinal cord, and are where Bowen Therapy will operate. Those in treatment typically report having more energy the day after treatment, and their health improves for the rest of the week.

6. Stretch reflex

Bowen treatment works at the beginning, end, and belly of the muscle, which changes the stimulation the nervous system receives and may change pain or muscle spasms.

7. Detox

When Bowen started to operate, the body also began to detoxify, and the detoxification function at the cellular level was achieved.

It is believed that the body has the ability to heal itself, and Bowen treatment can promote self-healing and improve the overall balance of the body.
